Master Time for Artist: To Dos
As we come to the end of our Master Time for Artist Series, we will cover one more topic: to-do task planning.
Unlike the other topics we've covered, such as the traditional, bullet, and digital planners, time blocking, and printable worksheets, to-do task planning needs little structure. It can be used with almost any form of recording method.
The main task for this type of planning is to get everything you need done, in either paper or digital form, so you can assess what still needs to be accomplished.
After unloading all tasks, decide whether to use this planning form for the day or the week.
There is little difference between the day and the week methods.
To-do planning for each day is best done the night before. After you finish the day's work, take your piece of paper and transfer anything that still needs to be completed that day to the next day's list. If you need to add anything to the list in the morning, feel free to do so.
The productivity hack for this method is to mark the top three things you must do that day, no matter what.
You need to identify what must be done to progress towards your goals.
If you are going to use to-do planning for the week, the method is very similar.
At the end of each week, review each day and see what still needs to be finished. Add all these items and any new tasks that must be done, and start your week.
Again, to move closer to your goals faster, you will need to nail down the most critical items on your list and highlight them in some way.
This method might work best for you if your schedule changes daily or at a moment's notice. Even with these interruptions, you can still progress with your goals with a plan.
To-do planning is beneficial and an excellent addition for anyone reaching for a goal.
